In scope of preparatory works of the 5th World Water Form that will be held in İstanbul in 2009, holding of  a regional conference on the topic of  Irrigation/Salinity is being planned by joint participation of  XVth Regional Directorate ,Xth Regional Directorate and XXth Regional Directorate of DSİ (State Hydraulic Works) and with cooperation of Harran University, Dicle University, Sütçü İmam University and Professional Foundations.By conveying the results of the conference to 5th World Water Form, it is intending to publicize Form to Turkey and urge the universities and professional organizations to participate to the process beside Regional Directorates of DSİ.
The conference that will be held will be beyond a seminar or a symposium and it will be in the discipline of  a working that covers more discussions and interactions as far as possible. Notifications  should be mainly chosen among themes that  are applicable and directly effect the daily life.Theme of the notifications, sample works and determinations of existing conditions should try to reflect  the character of the provinces (Şanlıurfa, Gaziantep, Diyarbakır, Mardin, Batman, Siirt, Şırnak) which are in the area of the GAP(Southeastern Anatolian Project) , as far as possible.
Abstracts of the notifications and entire texts that are wanted to present will be selected with  scrutiny, limited numbers of selected notifications will be presented. Exhibitions of the poster notifications will be enabled ,too.
The aim of this conference is getting together of the scientists who are making researches on Irrigation/Salinity and people who are working in application fields, to share their knowledge and experiences, discuss the problems and the solution methods with application samples and convey them to the 5th World Water Form.
